Lean Six Sigma Executive Overview for Healthcare
| 08.30 - 17.30 : Lean Six Sigma Executive Overview for Healthcare |
For healthcare executives, leaders of quality teams and others interested in a basic introduction to Six Sigma and/or Lean.
Healthcare professionals take pride in delivering exceptional patient care. However, providing quality care is increasingly difficult with rising costs, shrinking budgets, and the shortage of talented staff. Where healthcare organizations struggle to maintain high levels of patient satisfaction, Lean Six Sigma can help.
Many healthcare organizations find that Six Sigma and Lean are effective tools to manage these issues and improve metrics across the board. BMG's Executive Overview for Healthcare is specifically designed to answer the questions and meet the industry-specific needs of executives and leaders in the healthcare industry.
Lean Six Sigma works because: (a) it aligns the organizations vision and focus on improving processes, (b) it allows problem-solvers to work together in a well-defined support system, (c) it has more working parts and, therefore, can be morphed to meet any possible need for operational improvement, (d) it incorporates the powerful DMAIC tools and process to reduce variation, and at the same time it incorporates the powerful Lean tools to improve mean performance.
The class is an eight-hour workshop where students will learn the basic concepts and fundamental philosophies behind Six Sigma and Lean. Led by one of BMG's expert trainers and Master Black Belts, students will be taught how these methodologies can be applied to the healthcare industry, the impact it can have on healthcare organizations and what it takes to successfully build an infrastructure to support Six Sigma and Lean.
What Participants Learn:
The definition of Six Sigma and Lean and why they are important to healthcare
What Six Sigma can do: case studies from hospitals and healthcare organizations
The DMAIC approach to problem solving and how it can be applied to your organization
The roles, responsibilities, and requirements for each member of a Six Sigma community
How to apply statistical analysis tools to problem solving
How to use Deployment Strategies to drive results
The journey an organization takes to deploy Six Sigma and Lean and the model it uses for a successful deployment.
