IMPLEMENTING AN ENERGY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM IN YOUR BUSINESS
This workshop considers the International Organization for Standardization's (ISO) effort to create an International standard for this activity. There is an ANSI standard (ANSI MSE 2000) here in the US. Many people in the carbon management field are unaware of the existence of management system standards to help them operationalize their energy conservation programs.
TOPICS TO BE DISCUSSED INCLUDE:

ABOUT YOUR WORKSHOP LEADER
Dr. Robert Pojasek, Harvard School of Public Health, Harvard University
Professor Pojaseks research focuses on the use of quality management tools to prevent exposures and elim
inate risks. This research has applications for universities, companies, and communities as they seek a means of moving down the path to sustainable development.
Dr. Pojasek teaches a course on the "Path to Sustainable Development (ENVR E-105) at the Harvard Extension School. His research involves conserving resources and moving to zero waste in all processes. Professor Pojasek is an internationally recognized authority on pollution prevention and cleaner production. His students conduct actual projects in his EH-270 course.
He is developing protocols scoring the true performance of environment, health and safety programs. He is also scoring sustainability indicators and other EHS results. Many of his tools that are developed in this research will help improve the techniques used in life cycle analysis, design for the environment, industrial ecology, and sustainable development.

CONDUCTING A GREEN 5S SUSTAINABILITY AUDIT
This workshop will demonstrate a methodology, based on the principles of the 5S toolset, to measure an organizations effectiveness in using 5S within a green context and so will provide a method for assessing an organization. The methodology has been developed so that it can be applied within virtually any function in a company or sector, and its flexibility means it can be tailored, if necessary, to specific customer requirements.
TOPICS TO BE DISCUSSED INCLUDE:
-How does the Green 5S Sustainability Audit provides a means of measuring the level of achievement within various functions of an organization
-Implementing each phase of the Green 5S program and at all levels from general operations to Senior Managers
-Applying the Green 5S Audit to develop insight into the current environmental awareness in their organization
-Applying a general operational health-check of the 5S process in place at their company.
ABOUT YOUR WORKSHOP LEADER
James Marsh, Senior Lecturer, Sheffield Hallam University
James Marsh is a Lean 6 Sigma (L6S) Practitioner and has worked in many industries over the last 14 years ranging from Aerospace to Food sectors.
The subsequent LS6 deployments delivered have generated quantified savings in excess of $55M. For 4 years he served as a full time Senior Lecturer at Sheffield Hallam University teaching undergraduate/post graduate students in a variety of subjects. With regard to L6S he has trained over 1100 people and is currently reading for a PhD in Exploration and development of an Environmental Lean Six Sigma Sustainability (ELSSS) Framework.

He has worked on various quality and process improvement projects for many blue chip companies in the UK, including Thales Optronics Ltd., Scottish Power, Bosch, Nokia, Rolls-Royce, GE Domestic Appliances, Scottish Widows, 3M, Philips, Triplex Components, Siemens and Royal Navy.
Prof Antony provides Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Training (2 days), Fast Track Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Training for Health Services (5 days) and one day Executive Overview of Lean Six Sigma. He is on the Editorial Board of over 8 International Journals and a regular reviewer of 5 leading International Journals in Quality, Operations and Production Management. He has been recently invited to the Scottish Parliament to deliver a talk on "Process and Quality Thinking for creating World Class Business Leaders in Scotland by 2020".

Owen, Jr. is Vice President, Operational Excellence, Research and Product Development with Mannington Mills, Inc., a manufacturer of hard and soft surface flooring products based in southern New Jersey. Dons responsibilities include corporate Lean and Six Sigma initiatives, Supply Chain performance enhancement, and New Product Development. Don received his bachelors degree in electrical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a certificate in Economics, and has an MBA from Kennesaw State University. No, we do not combine discounts but we will honour the discount that is better for you.
What does payment include?
Payment includes breakfast, breaks & refreshments, lunches and the gala reception on the first evening of the conference. Check the on-line agenda for timings.
A detailed conference workbook and/or CD with presentations and all meeting materials.
When is payment due? Important please read.
To receive any early payment discounts, registration and payment MUST be received at the time of registration and before the respective cut-off date.
Any discounts offered (including team/group discounts) also require payment at the time of registration.
If payment is not made by credit card, payment must be received within 10 days of registration and prior to the conference. If payment does not arrive less than 10 working days prior to the event, a credit card payment will be requested.

Cancellation
If you have to cancel your registration you can either send a substitute colleague in your place or claim a credit within the following time frames before the conference. To send a substitute colleague, please send an email to register@wcbf.com with your full contact details of the current attendee and conference they are registered for, and then your full contact details, including your job title, and email address.
WCBF does not provide refunds for cancellations.
For cancellations received in writing more than ten (10) working days prior to the conference you will receive a 100% credit to be used at another WCBF conference for up to one year from the date of issue. For cancellations received less than ten (10) working days prior to the event no credits will be issued.
In the event that WCBF cancels an event, delegate payments at the date of cancellation will be credited to a future WCBF event. This credit will be available for up to one year from the date of issue.
In the event that WCBF postpones an event, delegate payments at the postponement date will be credited towards the rescheduled date. If the delegate is unable to attend the rescheduled event, the delegate will receive a 100% credit representing payments made towards a future WCBF event. This credit will be available for up to one year from the date of issue. No refunds will be available for cancellations or postponements.
WCBF is not responsible for any loss or damage as a result of a substitution, alteration, cancellation, or postponement of an event. WCBF shall assume no liability whatsoever if this event is altered, rescheduled, postponed or cancelled due to a fortuitous event, unforeseen occurrence or any other event that renders performance of this conference inadvisable, illegal, impracticable or impossible. For purposes of this clause, a fortuitous event shall include, but shall not be limited to: an Act of God; governmental restrictions and/or regulations; war or apparent act of war; terrorism or apparent act of terrorism; disaster; civil disorder, disturbance, and/or riots; curtailment, suspension, and/or restriction on transportation facilities/means of transportation; or any other emergency.
Please note that speakers and topics were confirmed at the time of publishing, however, circumstances beyond the control of the organisers may necessitate substitutions, alterations or cancellations of the speakers and/or topics. As such, WCBF reserves the right to alter or modify the advertised speakers and/or topics if necessary. Any substitutions or alterations will be updated on our web page as soon as possible.
Changes to the Program
WCBF reserves the right to make changes to any aspect of the program, agenda, speakers, dates and venue location and can also cancel events if enrolment criteria are not met, or when conditions beyond its control prevail. Every effort will be made to contact each delegate if the event is cancelled. If an event is not held for any reason, WCBFs liability is limited to the refund of the registration fee only. WCBF is not responsible for any loss or damage as a result of a substitution, postponement, alteration or cancellation of the event due to causes beyond its control including, without limitation, natural disasters, sabotage, trade or industrial disputes or hostilities, and accident.
